    Certified pre-owned Sig P229

Bass Pro has got Them on sale for $530. Don't know what all it comes with, but it is probably just 1 mag. It says in the ad compare to $899.99. It looks to be a pretty good deal, but just wondering what you guys think. The sale is going until Sept. 21.

I got my certified pre-owned for $515. It's well worth it. The Sig 229 is an amazing gun. I absolutely love mine. The certified pre-owned guns are checked over thoroughly, they'll replace whatever they need to, including barrel and slide, for it to be like new. You can't go wrong with a certified Sig.

You can't go far wrong with a 229, and that (at least here in Maryland) sounds like a good price, I'd say go for it!

The ones I've seen usually come from police and sheriff department. The guns are issued to LEOs, they are test fired, fired by LEOs at a range a couple times a year, but generally just holstered.

The departments trade them in after a couple years for new ones, Sig goes over them with a fine tooth comb and then sells them. Usually they only have a few hundred rounds through them and any real wear is cosmetic from holsters. They do come with two magazines and a one-year warranty. They are a great deal.

I don't have $500+ to spend right now, but if I did, I would be buying a Pre-Owned SIG P229.... right now, I'm thinking that would be on the top of my wish list.

I noticed the ad as well. Some times Bass Pro has some really good deals. There was a S&W a few weeks (months) back that was also a heck of a deal. You might get a better deal from an owner, but I doubt as clean and assured condition. I sometimes wonder if these are loss leaders just designed to bring people in the door.

There was a shot gun (think Remington) they listed twice in the same ad last month that was a good deal as well.

I bought a CPO Sig 228 that was very nice for about that price. The 229 is an equally good pistol, and I know very few people who rue the day they bought a Sig. You could do far, far worse...
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

    Ain't that the truth !!

My Taurus 24/7 Pro is one poo poo of a pistol and I could have had a P229 CPO gun for the same cost.

But, I have one but would have rather had another chambered in .357 Sig.

I had a Sig CPO P229 in 40. It was a fine weapon, but I have small hands and the double stack did not fit my hand well. I got a P239, CPO and really like it. The CPO guns are a great deal in my opinion. I have never had a problem with any of them.

I've bought two Certified Pre-owened SIG 229s, one with a rail, one without. They both shoot great, and I wouldn't hesitate to but another.

I carry a sig 229 and an HK P2K both in 357 Sig, about equally. Good choice. i also have a pre-owned Sig 226 in 40 that I'm getting a 357 Sig barrel for.

I am new to hand guns. My buddies all are glocks or Rugers. I tried alot of guns. Gun shops new me by name. I bought a sig 229 because of the way it felt in my hand. Very comfortable. It is not for all people. But I love my sig. It shoots accurately. I am now looking at the p232. Sig works for me

    I say go for it!

I picked up a CPO P229-40 with night sights at this weekends gun show for $620.00. It came with 2 mags. Pistol is in great shape...only the slightest amount of wear to the anodizing at the rear of the frame where the slide rides. I ran 200 rounds through it Sunday...flawless.
