    SIG 1911...back from the range

Just got home from the range after taking my SIG 1911 RCS out for the first time. (see earlier post for "New Toy")

First let me say the gun shot much better than I do. Fired about 150 rounds through it. Had 1 FTF at about 70 rounds. Round was about 1/2 way in the chamber when it hung up. Cleared the round and visually inspected it. Looked fine, reloaded it into the mag and it functioned fine.

All shooting was done from 7-10 yards. Basically shot the 10 ring out of the target. I did shoot 2 mags rapid fire. of the 14 round, 10 were in the 10X ring, 2 in the 9 ring and 2 in the 8 ring. Fired 1 mag of 230 gr HydraShok. Used the head area for this. You could cover the 7 rounds with a 3 inch circle.

If it performs with the next 150 rounds like it did the first I think I have a new EDC weapon. That is after I find a holster for it.
Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.

SIG makes good stuff...I love my Revolution Carry. I was impressed with the quality of the parts, and mine shoots great also.

    Thumbs up

Sounds like you've found a great carry gun. Sig's are fantastic weapons IMO. Of all the semi-autos I own only 2 have never malfunctioned on me. They are my Sig228 and a Beretta Vertec.
    Congrats!

I'm looking at one of these myself. I've had a Kimber Pro CDP II on my list for awhile and was finally going to pick one up next month, but after reading a lot of Kimber posts lately I'm having second thoughts. I don't want to drop $1K on a pistol that I then have to send off to get it to work right. SA doesn't have exactly what I'm looking for, nor does S&W. So far the SIG 1911's are looking like a viable option for a custom-level 1911 in my price range.

Question: JD noted in your New Toy thread that due to the slight differences in the SIG's slide that holsters were hard to find. I have several 1911 holsters, including a new MTAC that just arrived today, and my intention was to re-use the same holsters. Have you tried a regular 1911 holster, particularly an MTAC or anything Kydex -- is it usable at all with the SIG?

I have a Commander-length MTAC that holds my RC fine.

Great, that's what I wanted to hear! My MTAC is Commander-length also. I may wind up with SIG after all.
