Here are the .45s in my rotation:

TTi Custom Oracle- by J Setelin of TTi. full size 1911 in .45acp, Storm Lake barrel, Caspian frame & slide.

Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec- Full size .45acp, (not much that is still stock). This one gets carried & shot the most. Over 10,000 rounds thru this gun.

Kimber Pro Carry HDII- Commander size .45acp.

STI Trojan 5.0- full size 1911.

    All have ambi-safeties (I'm a leftie), mag-well funnels & forward slide serrations.

There is no link for my pistol because it is no longer made by Kimber, It is The Classic Stainless LE. I suppose the closest thing to it would be a KImberII stainless TLE 5 inch.

How do you like the Taurus? I was thinnking about the 945 in Stainless/Gold with pearl grips. Would I be wasting my time and money? I haven't heard too much good about this pistol. However, it surely is pretty!

NORINCO 1911 A1 STANDARD, cal: .45 ACP - JGS WORLD

Yeah, it's a Chinese made copy of the Colt. Back about 25 years ago I decided I wanted a .45, problem was I didn't have enough money to buy one. Still had small children at home. A local gun smith, Jim Clark, advised me to purcase a Norinco. I did. I paid $300 for it at a local gun show, and took it to him to work on before I ever fired a round through it. Mine has been accurized, ported, a triger job, and I had him put Bowmar sights on it. The Bomar Sights are comming off this month, and I will be installing something that doesn't hang on everything when I holster it. I shoot on my own property, and can hit consistantly at 65yds. Right now it's more of a target pistol than it is a carry weapon. Changing that real soon. As for realibility goes, this one is really a great gun. I have shot thousands of rounds through it, and it still works flawlessly. The only time I have ever had a jam was back when I was qualifying for my CCW. The instructor would not allow hand loads so I bought a box of whatever he had on hand that was cheap. After about 40 rds. I got a stove pipe. Cleaned up the gun a little with my shirt tail, and finished the course, dirtiest ammo I have ever shot. Shot the 10 ring completly out of the target, after shooting a smiley face in the head.

Y'all be safe now, ya hear!

Yeah, I wish we could still buy Norinco and PolyTech arms here in the states... we buy everything else from china... why not their well-made clones of our firearms (not to mention the AK's)
