Ruger SR9: can -10 models take 17-round magazines?

My local dealer tells me he can get me a Ruger SR9 with 17-round magazines in stainless/black... but he can get the black/black and black/OD models with 10-round mags. And (you guessed it) I'd prefer one of the latter models.

So... before I purchase a 10-round Ruger SR9 I'd like to find out if it can accept high-capacity (17 round) magazines. Anyone know for certain?

As long as the mag catch is in the same place, you can get 30-round or 1500-round mags (if they make them)....yes, you can use 17-round mags.

A 17 round mag should work in the gun with no problems. Not sure if it will fit flush though. Check grip length on both 17 and 10 round models. If it is the same it should fit flush.

Your dealer is obviously mistaken based on the Ruger website.

All three color combinations are available with 17 round mags or 10 round mags. As far as I can determine the only difference between the 17 round models and 10 round models is the mags they come with. Evidently the 10 round versions are for states that do not allow mags that hold more than 10 rounds.

I bought my P95 during the ban and it came with 10 round mags. The only difference is the plastic plug attached to the floorplate to cut the capacity. Aftermarket mags fit with no problem.
