I have been shooting glocks for a long time and carry a glock21 however I have recently purchased a sig P220 equinox and love it I am already starting to put that in my carry rotation very nice and accurate. As a matter of fact it's on my hip now. But the springfield 1911 and my kimber 1911 are becoming my favorite guns. Just something about that 1911 grip.

As much as I like Glocks, I think they are missing the boat on their 45 frames, SF versions or not. If you can get past that, they are good guns.

I took a Glock 21 to Blackwater for a week long handgun class. I couldn't have been more pleased. Well, I could have too. A guy with a 9mm beat me in a one-hand, 20 target drill by about 0.3 seconds. The targets were arranged in a horseshoe shape and tragets were from about 10 feet to about 20 yards.

The G21 mags are a bit large, very managable, but the size seems to slow reloads down just slightly. Since I had to reload in the one-hand drill, I may have lost a little time. In the pop-up drills, the G21 was fast and accurate. I swapped my G21 for a buddy's Sig 226 9mm and could not believe the difference in recoil between the .45ACP and a 9mm. I thought, no wonder the guy with the 9mm beat me.

Anyway, the G21 is a fine gun. It is a bit big and that can be a problem for smaller hands, but some issues can be overcome with proper technique. I have a Sig 220, 220ST, 220 Carry, and a Sig 220 Carry SA. They are fine guns too.

i'm going to sell the 220 ST, Sig 220 Carry SA, and a Sig 226 ST 9mm, BTW. I haven't posted them yet, but I think I'm going to pretty soon. I'm pretty well committed to 9mm right now, but it is funny - I sold my G21 long ago and have been pricing some today!

Yeah, but I know you Brownie - that's kinda the 'gun of the week' deal - LOL! I have the same affliction.

And, BTW, I seem to be solidly locked into my G17 now. Wonder what it'll be next week? I think I caught this from you during those courses I took from you.

The 220 "carry" shoots very damned nice indeed, and I don't mean to say it's recoil is heavy in anyway, but it does jump up more than the 21sf for me. I also prefer the constant trigger pull weight of the glock over the DA/SA 220's. I can run the DA/SA pretty well, but the first shot or two with the 220's are not as "on threat" with speed as the 21sf.
I agree, adding that I think the 220 'rocks' a bit more where the G21 kicks rearward more giving more of an 'impact' sensation. But, if that is the case then the muzzle doesn't lift as high in recoil.

A G21 (.45ACP) with a reduced grip and IIRC, ambi mag release.

Slim Frame. Glock came out with them about a year or so ago to answer requests/complaints about the standard 21's grip size, and a few other minor upgrades.
BTW, Glocks website is hardly ever up to date.

    Isn't that the truth huh?

I shot the g17 first gen all weekend in the class in Flagstaff

Keep going back to that G17, it's really the mainstay of the lineup. I guess you could say its the constant "clean up hitter" of my changing lineup

Hope all is well with you and yours sir.

That's pretty much seems to be where I am. G17 is hard to beat with the G19 within a hair of it.

I've put several rounds through a G21SF and did enjoy it. Today I compared my 1911 to it. They are virtually the same height. I put it inside my waistband at 2:30 and 3:00 where I normally carry. I don't think I'll have any trouble hiding it.

It looks like this will be my next purchase.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

Several outfits such as the Robar Companies, Inc. do a grip reduction for the Glock 21, (actually any Glock model), that greatly improves the fit and feel for those with hands smaller than Paul Bunyon's.

I have a West German P220 and absolutely love it.
I have never been a fan of Glock. It is a purely subjective thing with me. I don't like the feel of the grip or the trigger pull. I have friends that love theirs and they are reasonably rational people.
