Looking for a better subcompact...any suggestions?

I recently recieved my cw permit and have found that my SA XD9mm is just a little too big to effectively conceal. I currently have the XD in a raven concealment holster with an insight X2L on the rail which does it's job, but because I have an athletic build, I print no matter what I wear. I'm looking for something in a 40acp and was leaning towards a glock 27. My price range is around 4 to 500, and any suggestions from past experience about other calibers or pistols would be greatly appreciated? Thanks for the help.

Chris, you don't say what you can afford to pay, but if you can afford it you may want to check out the SIG 239 in a .40 cal. A bit expensive, but one sweet pistol and it conceals well. OMO.

Welcome Chris, I'm sure there will be quite a few suggestions coming forth. My EDC is the M&P40c, I only know it works real well for me. You'll have to go try one out on the range to see how it feels and shoots for you. Cling-On!
    P. S. very easy to conceal & not too much $$.

I say go for the G27! If you don't go for the G26...the G27 then! Love mine...love mine more every time I shoot it! Carry it alot. If you're looking for a deal, I know somebody here that has one for sale at a good price!

I have a Kahr CW9. It's single stack and would be easy to conceal. Of course mine is a 9 mm . You may want to go up to a .40 which I think they have with the same design and it should be in the price range you mentioned.

^ I'll 2nd the above. Might want to look at a single stack if you're having a hard to time concealing now.

Kahr has several versions in .40 (polymer, steel, etc...). I just have the CW9 but I have had zero issues with it.

Of everything mentioned, I'd pick the Glock-26 overall for stealth and dependability...that's my vote!

Why not just a subcompact xd? Or the Glock, Smith Wesson M&P, any of the Kahr's or the Sig 239.

I was thinking an xd subcompact but I wanted to explore a little and see what was out there. I'm extremely happy with the xd, which I purchased for work, but I'm new to the conceal carry side of the house. Thanks for the reply!

I think that the Walther PPS would fit your bill. It is available in .40 S&W. It is just above your price range however at around $550.

Welcome aboard! My friend in Las Vegas (Lost Wages in some circles) just bought the Sig P232 and the P239. He was having trouble concealing his HK. He's raving about both Sigs.

Get the .40.... Kahr is built like a swiss watch.
