I remington 700 .308, wood stock, rifle only.
The guy tells me he only has 16 rounds through the gun and he bought it new about 6 months ago.

I have a PT1911 and it is a dang good gun. I haven't had any problems with it in over 1500 rounds. I paid less than that and I would/will buy another one.

I bought my used with holster, 3 mags, and 3 sets of grip for under 500. No problems with it.

No problems with mine. I put mine thru a torture test....was taking a class and my regular firearm was having issues with the factory reloads I had brought. I had just purchased the PT1911 the previous day. I had thrown it in my range bag on the "off chance" I had an issue. Well I put 500 rds thru it over the next 8 hrs straight from the box - I did not even do a pre-shoot cleaning, Iit did not have a SINGLE issue. They are WELL worth the money.

I too have done some extensive research on the PT 1911. I would buy one in a heartbeat! There are however a few items standing in my way right now which include a new front CV joint for the car, taillight and tires for the truck, and the Remington 870! Here's some good reading for you.

Just do a search on the site with the keyword PT 1911 for more. Good luck!

I recently spent some time at the range with my friends PT1911, I enjoyed the experience and I would more than likely buy one. He says nothing but good about them.

I'm very happy with mine. Cost was around $600 NIB.

I was lucky enough to buy mine shortly after they first came out.

    Paid $499, NIB.

I've lost track of how many round I've put through it, but it's in the 3000-4000 round neighborhood. Only problem I've had was a sheared-off (on the inside) slide stop at about 1000 rounds, which I replaced with one from Wilson Combat. No problems at ALL since.

It eats everything I've thrown at it.

.....and I LOOOOOOVE 200gr LSWCs. My Springfield XD pukes when I try to run those through it, but the Taurus just keeps happily chugging away.

+1 on what everyone else has said. Only thing I didn't care for on mine was the Heine Straight 8 sights, changed them out with standard 3 dot night sights.

I love my PT1911, I have outshot many of my friend's Kimber and Springfield Armory 1911's with this pistol. I highly recommend one if you don't absolutely have to have a "top" name brand pistol.

On the other hand, I'm less impressed.

I looked at two at two different gunstores when I was searching for a new 1911. One had a thumb safety failure (the thumb safety let the sear move) while the second one, a used model, had loose sights and the left side safety lever had been messed with - the latter wasn't Taurus's fault.

The older ones seem to be of better quality than the newer ones, in my opinion.
