I didn't know about FORD's but after seeing your Kimber, I immediately went to their web site and WOW! They do some fantastic work. They should be happy you posted those pictures. But no happier than I bet you are with that pistol!
I'm seriously considering sending in a 1911 to be done up in black nickel. Never heard of them before, but seems like a nice lil outfit they are running...
Congrats! I have been hard chroming my pistols for years and have had nothing but good luck with it. My first IPSC full house race gun was hard chromed and i put well over 100k rounds through it with no problems......
Your grandkids will be shooting that gun long after you have passed...
I have a question. Is the hard chrome a finish applied over the existing gun, or is it just the finish stripped and the steel underneath polished? What about wear? Does it wear off?
I like it but you've got to get some nicer grips to set off the hard chrome.
