Difficulty racking the slide

What works for my wife is to do the following.
1. Lock the writs, shoulders and elbow. Right tight to the body and left out to the left
2. Then lift the left shoulder back and up. This will easily rack the slide with more powerful muscles of the shoulder and back.
Let me know if this works for her.
