    Wow

I went to the local gun shop now that I got my permit, looking for a p3at and while I was looking I fell in love with the Kahr pm9. I knew they were little but wow, and it felt so good in my hands.: frown:Its a shame I can't afford it, it really is nice. I just can't bring myself to drop $650.

I just had to say that I envy anyone that has one. lol

Save for it! I just got an UBR, I decided on an amount and when I had the money I got it. Took about a year, but I've got what I want!

Would you spend $650 to save your life?
If you are robbed next week, will you regret that you didn't get that little 'friend'?
I'd start saving right now and do everything possible to get the pistol that feels good in your hand.
I can hear that little Kahr calling your name...

I love mine! It is my go to gun when I need deep concealment. Very accurate for its size to boot!

Give these guys a call and ask what they can get you one for. You might be surprised. They obviously have very good connections, and I'll bet they have the lowest prices nationwide for new Glocks and I bought one from them this year. They can ship to your local FFL I'm sure.

I just picked up a CW9 today at the gun show (I'll post pics once I reassemble it after the initial clean/lube). I tried the PM9 but it just didn't fit. I was very disappointed as I have read so much great stuff about them, but you can't argue with your own anatomy. The P9 felt great but the CW9 was almost $200 cheaper and they're almost the same gun except for the polygonal rifling in the barrels. I don't know enough about polygonal rifling to justify spending $200 on it.

You really made a great observation.....The Kahr is well worth the extra cash. They are a real handgun, not a small toy of a gun and are reliable and well made. I have a CW40 and PM9 and love both, just great small handguns. I guess there is nothing wrong with a Kel Tec or LCP if you can get them to run reliabily but they are no where near the gun the Kahr is IMO. Being a bit smaller and lighter is not a good trade-off if the gun is not 100% reliable and handles well.

A local shop here in NC has the CW9 new for $399 and I purchased my PM9 for $590.

As a college student I can't see myself spending that. For now its like needing a car but wanting to wait till I can afford a mercedes. Im gonna have to settle for the chevy cavalier that gets the job done even if its not as pretty. Maybe in several years I'll get one or find one used. I do hear more good things about the keltecs then I do bad though so hopefully I don't get one of the lemons.

Check out this guns america link and email the seller if interested. He agreed to ship to me for $450 a few weeks ago. I only didn't because I found another used one with night sights. Most FFL's will charge about $20 for the transfer, and you shouldn't have to pay any tax on the purchase...so you should be out the door with the Kahr for $470....not a bad deal.

Also...from experience....don't sacrifice quality or what you really want based on what you have in your wallet. I would rather wait a little longer for quality than an immediate piece of crap.

Let us know how you make out....carry well.

maybe this is just my view as a young pup recently out of college but many here keep telling the OP to save up and wait to buy what he wants.

Some may be able to do this but i can not, when i start to save something comes up that NEEDS the money I have saved (brings to mind that $900 that was going to go for a 1911). So then back to square 1 with out a firearm to fit the specific need.

The problem that I see with waiting to buy "what you really want" is that if you don't carry during that time because you "don't have a gun that works" then when something happens and you don't have a gun you are up a creek.

YMMV but i am in a similar situation being just out of undergrad and in grad school.

You can look at a j-frame smith, 409 at buds gun shop. Or even cheaper the taurus millienium pro series are selling for like 319, a bit thicker but a nice budget firearm. They are no tack driver but will get the job done for 5-7 yd shooting. Charter arms isnt to be overlooked either, they have small revolvers that are very affordable. You could also look for a Makarov, I remember seeing the FEG;s going for like 169 nott to long ago. So there are options when on a strict budget.
