Need some info on the SIG P220 Carry SAS

I had originally planned on the 229 SAS but finally settled on the 220 carry SAS.. That is until I was looking through the brochure I got from my dealer. The 220 Carry SAS had this HUGE beavertail on it and I immediately lost interest. However when I go to their site it doesnt have the beavertail. So does anyone here that own one know if comes with or without the beavertail? Is one an old version and one a new one? Also I would love to see some pics!! Thanks!

The P220 Carry SAS does not have a beaver tail. There are however, at least three different 220 SAS configurations. The Elite frame models are the ones with beaver tails. You wanted pics? I have a 220 SAO Carry Elite...about one month old and been to the range once. The 220 is no small gun - are you going to carry it concealed?

    Thanks for the pics.

I feel like such an idiot! Upon closer review of the brochure I realized that I had been looking at the 220 "Compact" SAS and not the "Carry" SAS. Again my appologies!!

Can anyone tell me whether the 220 Carry SAS comes with the internal or external extractor? Thanks!

    Answer is both...

    Newer models have external extractors

    Older ones have internal extractors.

Had a friend in Arizona carry one of these. you could help the double action a bit? Shorten the double action pull a little. By a little pressure on the trigger, can do with this one?

Im not quite sure that I understand your question...

BTW I have just one more qeustion for you guys. (I understand that this q should be in a different forum on this site but I dont wanna waste the space)... Do you guys have any tips for a holster/belt combo for the 220 Carry SAS? Im about 5' 8"-10" or so 135lbs. Im hoping to be able to conceal with only a t-shirt/jeans. Thanks!!

Check some of our sponsors, we have several that offer IWB models and I'm sure that gun is probably "on the list". I carry a full size P220 but have only carried it OWB with another shirt covering it. The Sig is a great gun, enjoy it!

    Thanks Bumper!

Ok, I am also wondering with the DAK trigger what is the potential of accidentally firing the gun, and what is its potential to fire when dropped? (Sorry, I havent found very much detailed info. on this trigger setup)

Sigs do have a firing pin safety IIRC so that should negate a drop fire.

Hey jbone, here is a link that explains the DAK trigger pretty good.

At one time I had several P-220's and carried them all in a VM-II.
The P-220 SAS is a very sweet carry gun.
    ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!

    thanks for the link Warmon!

Thumper: I cant wait to get it! So far the VM-II is what everyone seems to mention when carrying the 220. Thanks everyone for your input, and hopefully no more questions will pop up, but with me you never know!

Ok well I was wrong I have another question! I see that there is no "decock" lever on the gun. So am I right to assume that once the slide is racked and a round is in the chamber its cocked and ready to go right? I also take it that decockers are for the da/sa guns huh? Thanks!
