The wife's first weapon on lay-a-way!

My wife has been soooo interested in a firestorm/bersa .380. We've been saving up so we could afford it and I got some bday money and wanted to put it on layaway for her. I went to the range and went shooting. Then took a look at their guns. She really likes that satin nickel firestorm. She likes the firestorm better than the bersa thunder because of the rubber grip with the finger grooves. Well they have 2 satin nickel bersas and I was just going to buy some after market grips and an all black firestorm with nickel accents... hammer, trigger, slide release ... and I'm like sweet! So I call the misses and about two hours later we get back there and they have already sold both the satin nickel bersas and she sees the firestorm and is like that's it! So I'm excited because that'll be another gun for me to shoot if she ever decides to let me take it!
Now she just has to decide how to carry. :) The pic is a bersa but it looks the same.

I think that's pretty sweet actually. My 'ol lady doesn't seem to be too taken with the semi-autos. She wants a western style gun (revolver). Problem is thinking about the caliber. I wouldn't mind having a revolver to shoot again....just on the off chance. ;)

Yeah she LOVES going to the range with me. I'd love to get her into a bigger caliber but a gun is better than no gun and she already called the one at the range "hers" until she got her own.

Red, what part of the state are you located in?
The only drawback I see with the Bersa/FireStorm is the decocker/safety. They tend to be very stiff and work just opposite of most safety's. Down to put it on, up to take it off. Other than that they are good shooters.
Almost forgot, mine is a bi tone.

I'm in Va Beach. What about you? I agree it'll take a little getting used to but it'll be her main gun so I'll have her practicing at home a lot and all that good stuff. I liked the bitone too but I hadn't seen this one before. It was lightly used with just a bit of holster wear so I got it for a decent price I thought. Coulda got better from somewhere else but nobody else had the firestorm.

Richmond area here. I happened to run across mine when I was over in the Cumberland area. I had owned a Bersa before, but sold it to a friend who wanted it for his wife. They make for a nice grab and go gun when your in a hurry.

It's a great choice, because it's HER choice...
Have fun at the range.

I would have never gone with the P99C my wife carries. Good gun, just not how I would have went. But real important it was her choice.

The fella at the local gun store talks up the Bersa .380 quite a bit. He likes the value side of it.
I'll add a thumbs up on her choice also, congrats.
I'm also in the Richmond area.

I'm with Thanis, I have the Smith 642 and a Para 9mm LDA. Which one I carry depends on where I'm going. My wife on the other hand loves her Walther ppk/s now that its broken in.

It's great to see all these threads about the little ladies interested in handguns, very encouraging. Congrats on your new purchase and your woman keeping herself safe.

Thanks guys for all the comments! Like somebody else said I might get one for myself to have something small to carry around. The Firestorm is so comfy with the rubber grip too. I can single hand shoot it and still have a good grouping.
