    Gun maintenance

I'm new to concealed carry and I had no idea how linty my gun would get from daily carry.

How often does everyone wipe off your guns? Nightly? To what degree?

I clean it when I shoot it...
    It sleeps next to me...
It's always in a holster, so no lint...
If I'm in a gun cleaning mood, I may give it the 'once over'...just for fun.

I wipe down nightly after I unload, visually inspect components then reload for the night. Field strip every 2wks wipe down internals and run a swab down the pipe. Complete cleaning after every firing.

One, it depends on how oily you make it and two, if you carry without a hoster...often. With, I wipe down once a month.

This time of year I also carry in a MTAC. My M&P 40c will get a little linty sitting between my chamois long sleeve shirt and t-shirt, keep gun dry as you can this will help. A can of dry compressed air might work.

While working, a KelTec P3AT rides in my right front pocket. It does get a bit of lint around the hammer. It gets "dusted" every few days & field stripped & cleaned every couple weeks at minimum.

A Glock 19 rides IWB in a MTAC the rest of the time. A Glock fears no lint! The 19 gets cleaned after it gets shot.

Well, if you're looking at it, and you see some lint, wipe it off. Anything I carry, I look at it several times daily. If I feel the need, I'll wipe it off. Fuzz at the end of the barrel? I don't think it will effect trajectory much, but you never know when that gnarly ball of carpet hair can blow up your gun.

I clean it when I shoot it. I wipe it down with Eezox once a week.
