    Ordered my SIG today!

I ordered the SIG P220 Carry SAS today! It wont be in for a while which is okay b/c im still waiting for my permit to come through. (A little pre-mature I know) Anyhow New York needs to hurry up Ive heard anywhere from 3-10 months wait. Im really hoping its the former rather than the latter. In the mean time I need to pick a holster, belt, get ammo, a cleaning kit, etc., etc. ...Boy this is getting really expensive!!

I couldnt figure out how to post the pic here, but I'll at least provide the link:

Congrats! Nothing like the feeling of knowing that a new family member is on the way. Picking the right holster is almost as tough as finding the right firearm. Better get started on that one now. ha! Sure you'll love your Sig. Glad to see that you are getting your permit too.

I just bought my first SIG a few days ago and took it to the range the first time yesterday. Be prepared to fall in love!

Nice Sig pistola...I like the wood grips.
Too bad on the long wait for 'permission' to carry....somehow I don't think the founding fathers meant for that to happen.

Initially I didnt like the wood grips but they grew on me. And if I decide I dont like them down the road I'll just get rid of em! My friends think it looks like an "old mans gun"

And about the wait... Thats what happens when they put someone like Hillary in charge!

I got the same SIG just a few months back and love it!

Originally I fell for it with stock grips. Not having felt the wood grips, when my SAS arrived and I shot it I just couldn't get used to the added thickness of the wood...however, there's none more beautiful!

So, I did some research and found that Hogue offers SIG plastic grips that are smooth when stock, but Hogue then checkers. I just put them on this week and find they slim it down and offer a bit more "grippiness", both good outcomes for me.

Here are some "before and after" pics of the grip change:

Dang! That's almost too purdy to shoot IMO! Nice! Very nice, and I hope it works well for you! Be safe.

The plastic grips are not all that attractive, but a good value and very functional. Here's a link: HogueAuction.com

Oh, and if you do buy them, I was advised to get different grip screws, since the ones on the wood grips are a bit longer and with the new grips would interfere with the magazine. So, I ordered four of the Hogue grip screws.
