    RAMI or XD9 SC?

I'm torn between the two for my wife. She told me to figure it out. Any insight into one or the other for purse carry, a little range time, etc.?
    Thanks.

    A) I can not stress this enough - do not purse carry.

    B) It completely varies by shooter preference. She needs to decide, no matter how much she doesn't want to.

CZ makes an awesome gun, however the RAMI is on the heavy side for purse carry. You need to get her to carry on the body. Purse carry can be very risky as well as unsafe.

I have (or rather HAD) both pistols. Carried each of them for a bit and shot both of them a lot. Both are small but somewhat bulky and, in that respect, are much the same. Like the other posters I would highly recommend against purse carry but if that is the way she wants to go select a purse/handbag made for the purpose e.g. like Coronado Leather or Galco makes. Even though it is off the body carry these handbags offer a safe, secure, easily accessible way to carry concealed.

Earlier I said that I HAD them both. My oldest, married daughter said she just couldn't live without the RAMI - what's a father to do?

Both weapons are high quality and you just cannot make a bad choice - but it would sure be better if she made it on her own.

If all else equal - check availability of accessories for both that you may want and go with the one that has accessories already available you want. (holster, laser, night sights etc...)

I vote XD9SC. The RAMI looks cool, but I have read sporadic negs about reliability?

if she is going to carry in purse without holster, i would go with Rami. It does at least have a safety, even though the xd is safe with grip safety. I do know that the xdsc has a heck of a stiff slide spring. My wife cant rack the slide on mine. Never shot a Rami so not sure about slide.
Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it ......

NO real probs with reliability with the RAMIs in 9mm.
The 40s are getting better now.

A RAMI is also called the Chunky Munky.

No other sub-compact is as heavy.

OK for belt or shoulder holster carry, but would be a
    real brick in a purse.

get the XD then you can always progress to the RAMI for yourself:)

Hmm seems like the XD sub felt lighter. Specs say about the same for both guns.
    25-26 ounces.

XD SC quite top heavy, even loaded, at least the 9mm is. Maybe that fooled you some.

Both ended up being way too big for her. Might have to work down to a P-3AT or something like dat.

You may want to rethink that decision - many people think that gun is easy to shoot, but it's not unless you put some range time into it. It's quite literally the "exploding credit card" as my friends put it.

I wear size medium gloves and can get 1.5 fingers on the grip. Somebody with bigger hands is sol, and unless they enjoy shooting, usually those with smaller hands are also sol.

    Avoid that cute factor.

What dimension was "too big?" Width of the grip? Slide width?

I'd go with the XD for sure and from a woman point of view don't carry in purse!
