3" 629's were made to be carried. Don't make it feel unwanted, carry it.

I occasionally carry my S&W 625 N frame, just so it doesn't feel left out...

I'll carry the 6 inch Colt Anaconda when I'm out and about during deer or bear season. I carry it in a shoulder holster under a coat so its pretty unnoticable.

I carry a 7.5" Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull.

Ok, not often, just as a hunting side arm. But in a chest rig under a jacket, no one would ever know its there, granted I'm a big guy, but still.

BTW, the cross-the-chest draw is the only feasible way to carry this guy without developing a nasty limp!

I used to carry a 44 MAG single action when I first started carrying. I have a 44MAG Ruger Super Blackhawk I carry while hunting. I would love to have a Model 29 or a Model 629. If I had the money I would buy every Hand Cannon model made.

I carried an S&W M58 .41 mag for a while in a skeletonized IWB rig that used to be offered by Desantis. I was a young street cop, too broke to afford a mid-sized carry gun, but wanting to carry more than just my J-frame when off the clock, so I carried my big duty sixgun. I work for an agency which requires us to provide our own weapons, at our expense.

I bought a S&W Performance Center .44mag 3" absolutely stunning looking revolver, powerful, accurate, and horrible to shoot. I really wanted to like this gun. Sold for a Sig P220 Equinox.

S&W Mountian Gun .44 Magnum, 4 inch barrel. S&W Model 29, 6 inch barrel. Don't usually wear them in town.

Just a cautionary note: a jury is going to hear that its a "Grizzly hunting evil weapon" by a prosecutor if you shoot someone with it. Its not exactly a typical weapon used against people by police, military, or others, so it may come back and bite you if it is ever used or you are asked about it during a stop of some kind. Just something to bear in mind. Personally, I always carry a .45 which is about the limit I think can be defended in court successfully most of the time because it is "accepted." It shouldn't really matter, but it does most of the time. So much so I know of people carrying .22s (deluded I think, but that is another discussion entirely).

In short, consider it, and make sure its legal (don't see why not, but hey) and do what you feel is right.
