rsz that is the drill for " sub cal " if your on 1911 platform , unless your shooting some old werid chit , it dont apply , your bringing the bbq with ya lol . my point is if you can put effective , multiple hits on target in a short time frame , carry a sub cal , if your unshure of this carry a larger cal , take your time fast, and let the first one put em down

    Thumbs up

Get that confusing photo of that fabricated, fake, Monkey Pistol off this thread.

Seriously....I would say that the very best pistol strictly based on SIZE VS POWER would have to be the little Rohrbaugh 9mm ~ It's a bit expensive but, it sure would be hard to beat.
Amazing little powerhouse of a mini semi~auto 9 pistol.
    Very TIGHT package!

    Hivoltage...

Everyone commenting here has mentioned some great firearms. I think, however, you answered your own question: "I really do like the Kahr PM9!!!!!" If you like it, you'll practice with it, maintain it, etc.

Whatever you choose, have fun, and good shooting!

Sorry QK - don't you like Bruces ''lil' gem''!!

I should have mentioned the R9 of course but - sometimes leave it out because it is so high end for cost and so not as available to many folks. I think to actually, my wife would struggle with it, compared with Bersa, altho I do hear of ladies liking it.

To start with you have to get on one side of the fence or another, either you want a pocket pistol for pocket carry or you want something for OWB or IWB and you're willing to dress to cover it.

then if you say pocket, you have to define "pocket" by your standards. I'm amazed and sometimes laugh when I hear what some people call pockets. I think some of them are just spouting off without really having carried their pocket cannons at all. On the other hand, some are 6'7", weight 285lbs and wear pants with pockets so big they can carry a basketball in them. So pocket size is relative. Your pocket is the one that matters. I know this, carrying a pistol in your pocket gets real old real quick unless it's light and thin. your choices are limited.

I too have a Bersa .380 and it is the most accurate pistol that I have, period, however, it's larger and heavier than my Kahr P9, 9mm. It's definitely NOT a pocket pistol if we're talking about my pockets. I have a Kel-Tec .380, it made a few trips back to the factory and finally, it's reliable.

But the PM9 your looking at is really a good round and probably the largest gun you can call a pocket pistol but it is at the upward side of that category.

I suspect quite a few people carry in the pocket but after a while get tired of carrying that way because it's just not real comfortable to have something big and bulky in your pocket.

Still, as I said, it's your pocket that counts.

Get the PM9, you know you've already make up your mind

Bud, is there some reason why I wouldnt be able to shoot the Kahr comfortably that I am not aware of.? I know it is a small gun but only a 9MM also. Let me know cause I have a trip to the gun store tomorrow after work

No telling i shot the 40 yeah it more powerfull but it twisted so much it wasnt comfortable to shoot..

And i think the 9mm was way to small and twisted in my hand way to much and i think the 9 would too so shoot before you buy

Rember though im just stating my shooting exp with a Kahr but i have big hands

My dad who has medium didnt care for it to much either

plans to try a 9 next time

IMHO , the "sleeper" of the Carry gun world is the old Makarov.

Just a Tad bigger than a walther or a Bersa .380
Weighs about the same as the Bersa - holds 8 +1 (9x18 russian)

I have two , and they each cost me under $200

I do not (as yet) carry the Mak - having enough choices I do not need to but - I regard it as a very handy piece even if a shade heavy.

The 9x18 round is substantially capable IMO and the gun itself is a pleasure to shoot. I was lucky and found one which, tho a Bulgy import - in fact carries Russian markings. Cost a bit more but - glad as heck I found it.
