I've fired other's Taurus guns and they seemed fine. The revolvers were a bit rough. Have had occasion to shoot the Taurus PT1911 and the Taurus PT92 and they seemed quite nice.
My brother-in-law extensively dry-fired a gritty Taurus .357 snub over a weekend and smoothed it up to be very slick. He still off loaded it in favor of a 2 1/2-inch S&W Model 66.
I own four Taurus guns:
PT111 MilPro SS DAO
PT140 MilPro SS DAO
PT145 PRO SS SA/DA
Mod 94 22lr 9 shot revolver.
Used to own a PT99 Blued 9mm
I have not experienced any type of malfunction on any of them. I had to break in the triggers on both the PT111 and PT140. Loaded each guns with snap caps and dry fired both guns about 500 times. The trigger pull is now a lot smoother on both guns. The only thing I don't like with my PT145 is the Heinie sights but other than that, the gun has been flawless. I would buy another Taurus if the need arises! To each... his own!
