    Kimber Ultra Raptor - Short Range Report

    I picked up my new Ultra Raptor on Monday and had a chance to hit the range today at lunch. This is the first Kimber I've owned that I actually shot and was expecting a load of FTFs and FTEs based on what I've read about them. That couldn't be farther from the truth! What a pleasure this thing was to shoot. Not a single hiccup or issue with it.

    Now I only had time to put 100 rounds through it but I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

    My Bullard leather is on track to show up today on UPS so I'll be ready to start testing that out around the house. Another couple weeks and I think I'll have my new EDC.

    Too many individuals are quick to complain about Kimbers. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I've seen individuals bring Wilsons ($2500 guns) back the gun shop because of problems.

    If it's mechanical, it can have problems.
    I have had three Kimbers, and all have been great performers and without problems.

    I agree. I've never had any problems with any of my guns, Kimbers or others. I always wonder if I'm just lucky, or what????

    My Ultra Raptor had about 15 FTE's through the first 150 rounds.
    After that, it has been absolutely flawless in my hands, and all others who have shot it. It now has about 750 rounds of everything I could throw down the tube. You will love the gun my friend. Mine is going to my son to carry now that it is 100%. Getting ready to take the SIS PRO to the range and get it ready to roll as well. Luck.

    Thanks for the report. I've got my eyes set on an ultra raptor II at a local gun shop. The GF said she'll pick it up for christmas for me if I want it. She's a keeper. Some of the negative reports have led me away from it, and my G27 is as reliable as reliable gets, so it's gonna take some more thought. Congrats on the nice piece.
    When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
