    Old School snubbies anyone?

I just thought I'd share some pics of my other carry revolver my S&W 42 lemon squeezer. I think these snubbies just have a certain kinda coolness about them,a panache if you will. I think guns like this say something about the men who carry them. I think guns are very business like in their appearance if you will. So anyone here prefer the old school snubbies?

Those always make me think "Dragnet" and "Elliot Ness"... LOL

However, I was reading the "Super Snubbie" thread, and those zealots in there are getting me to think I need one, just on principle...

I'm hoping this Colt Cobra at work doesn't get out of there before I get my grubby little hands on it.

    Can I play?

All these classic S&W's... My 'classic snubby' is of the prancing pony family, but I'm quite fond of it, and it rides quite comfortably at my side :)

Is 1932 "old school" enough for you? A Colt Banker's Special for an old banker.

    Squeezer

The squeezer is the grip safety on the backstrap of that model.

See the long, black piece of metal that is running along the backstrap of the grip? That is a grip safety, and it needs to be "squeezed" for the gun to fire.

That thing protruding from the back is a safety mechanism. Like the grip safety on a 1911. The action won't work unless it is engaged by squeezing the grip, kind of like sqeezing a lemon.

    Isn't a 1911 a lime squeezer?

Love the pics. Now I'm going to be on a quest for a vintage snubbie.
