    fixed-barrel pistols

I recently purchased a fixed barrel pistol and have done some reading about shooting it. I understand there is a different technique to shooting fixed barrels? I've only ever shot removable-barrel pistols...so I'm not sure what would be different? Can someone provide any insight? Is it just making a cognizant effort to not limp-wrist?

Would you care to tell us exactly which pistol you have?

There are a good number of different makes and models of fixed barreled pistols, and the advice given on one may not be good for all.

Further more, what is this "different technique" you speak of?

The more info you give, the easier it is to get answers.

For the record, I have (or had) several pistols with fixed barrels and I shoot them just the same as any other pistol without issue.

yeah, i suppose i should include that! ha! sorry...it's a Bersa .380cc. I've seen on the BersaTalk forums that people say you can't shoot them the same way as something like a glock or sig because taht will result in more FTEs. they never really said what would be different though...

I would shoot it like normal just make sure you have a firm grip and don't limp wrist it,limp wristing is one of the major problems with FTE

Beretta 92s are also fixed barrels, till you break it down. I have no problems with it or any of 1911s, Hi pwrs, or Kahrs

How you shoot it shouldn't matter, as long as you follow the basics of shooting skills. You never want to limp wrist any pistol, some may be more forgiving than others, but your asking for problems.
