With the MTAC you'll have the exact same setup as mine except I chose the .40 for more umph. Same recoil as my 9mm so I snagged it. :)
I'm caressing it lovingly as we speak...
    She likes that.

That said, you MUST get something to keep that trigger from snagging on clothing. There's a decently long pull but that last bit before she barks is easily accidentally done under the weight of the gun (or me shifting my lard across it, heh)

    Safety first :)

You won't regret it though. The M&Pc is a fantastic little sidearm.

I carry the .40 fullsize and I'm 5'6" at 140lbs. I conceal it with a button up shirt untucked in a Comp-Tac C-TAC. However, the compact would allow more freedom of movement without printing. 9mm is powerful enough. If I had to do it again, I would seriously think about the nine (cheaper ammo, easier to shoot, more capacity).
Gun control can be blamed in part for allowing 9/11 to happen.

i carried a 40 compact for about a year before the gun developed a problems and i found the 1911world. i had both the fullsize and compact the fullsuze was just to hard to conceal for me. i used blade techs kydex iwb and had good luck.

I love my M&P 40c. It is my primary carry gun and is very reliable, easy to shoot and carry.

The M&P is ergonomically a very nice pistol. Recoil is not problem and the gun is accurate and a breeze to shoot. I've only fired one mag through one to date and I really liked the handgun. I would choose the compact.

If you are willing to buy your shirts slightly oversize and you are already wearing your shirts untucked then I would go for a good gun belt and a high quality OWB holster for carry behind the hip. A very comfortable way to carry.

That means it's bedtime for me. I'm going cross-eyed.

Usually I delete that SIG picture of my Galil when I think it will be too obtrusive but, sometimes I forget.
It's only a temp signature photo. I'll probably only keep it for another couple of days.

Just for your information, S&W has just put out a M&P 9c with a thumb safety, if that would be of any interest.

    vicioustruth, welcome to the forum!

The M&P, whether it be the fullsize or compact, is an excellent choice in a defensive /carry gun.

Id choose the compact for concealed carry. I bought one last saturday M&P 40C - .40 cal, 10+1 accurate shooter and a breeze to conceal. Ive already been through 300+ rounds

Go ahead and purchase a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom Kydex holster for that M&P9 NOW! You'll save a lot of money by NOT trying all the rest before you otherwise find out about the Phantom on your own.

You know, the 9mm used to be considered an acceptable round until the internet was invented....

M&P Line is a great set of weapons. Consider your carry when chosing a compact. Some IWB carry like the longer barrel for comfort. I will be carrying the .40 M&P. Enjoy your M&P. They are all great.
