    Charter Off Duty

Does anyone know the actual over all length of one of these? They appear to be bigger than a J frame Smith. Has anyone weighed one? Gunblast weighed one and said it was 13.4 oz. but they advertise 12 oz.

Don't know the actual size, but the weight situation could have a couple of explanations. The article in Gunblast is from 2006 and was about a gun from Charter 2000 which went under. The new Charter Arms may have reduced the weight of the gun. In reading the article though I suspect that the Gunblast weight is with ammo. The Charter Arms website weight is empty.

The Gunblast Article says that is weighs 13.4 unloaded. The barrel is 2 inches as advertised. I don't have a small digital scale, otherwise I would weigh mine. I really like mine. I just got it back from Magnaport, and I had them mill off the front sight and replace it with an XS Tritium sight, and had them jewel and polish the trigger as well.

It wasn't with ammo. Here's a quote from the article

The Off Duty weighed in at 13.4 ounces unloaded, which is a full four ounces lighter than my old Undercover. A third of a pound makes a big difference when

    Danimal,

How long is the whole gun?
Are you from Chicago? I call my son Danimal (as in Dan Hampton)

I was given the nickname Danimal back in college.....I am sure you can use your imagination.

If I lived in Chicago it would be illegal for me to possess these in city limits, even within my personal residence. I live in KC. I am at my in-laws so I don't have a chance to measure the entire length of the gun.

I also have the boot grips that it came with, and they are relatively comfortable, and would probably knock about a half inch from the total length of the gun. As you can see though, I am a big fan of the full size grips.

    Charter

My (old) Charter Arms Off Duty is 6 1/4 inches long. Don't have a scale.
