    Black Widow - Deep concealment

Alright I already posted about another gun earlier today. Did some research on the net and found this beauty.

North American Arms - .22 Black Widow - Weight: 8.8 oz

Click on the link to see a pic of it..
    North American Arms

    .22 Mag

    Bullet weight 30 gr

    Velocity 2,200 ft/s

    Energy 322 ft·lbf (437 J)

    --------------------------------
This looks like something you could just slip into your shorts pocket on a hot day? At first I thought..its just a 22 no power but, those are some impressive numbers.

    What do you guys think?

Everyone has their own taste but I would take a look at one of the small pistols like a Keltec P3At or something. The dimensions are actually smaller than the one you are looking at and I personally would feel more confident with it. But like I said, do what YOU want to do.

While the choice in small concealables is quite wide, agreed - the NAA minis do have the advantage IMO compared to quite a few.

My mini is the 1 5/8" with the mag cylinder in all the time - and this actually can sit in a shirt top pocket. It is either a measure of last resort backup or - maybe on occasions the only thing that can be 'lost' about the person. If a semi preferred then for sure a KT is another option.

Those ballistics numbers are rifle .22mag numbers.
The charts I have seen limit the .22mag to 177 ft-lbs or less
when fired out of a pistol/revolver.

I meant to mention - it seems as tho a general ball park assessment of the .22 mag out of these approximates a standard vel .22LR out of a rifle.

Hardly a total stopper but sure as heck not gonna cause a pinprick!

It looks bigger than a PPK...personally I'd much rather put my faith in .380acp.

I own a NAA , but he BW model is quite a bit longer. Recoil is hardly worth mentioning (at least to me) so a more compact model makes sense.

Heres a couple of pics for size comparison.
    NAA .22 mag revo. , Colt Mustang .380, Kahr CW9 9mm

I feel that the black widow AND the pug, both are a little large per se to carry comfy like my mini-revo.
But everyone has their likes and dislikes. If your 6'6", your hands are gonna be larger than mine at 5'10", so the B.W. and pug just may be the ticket.

For anyone who carries the regular size 22 Mag,
I highly recommend the rubber slip-on grips that come on the PUG.
    I have them on my 1 & 1/8" Mini.

I have had my Pug for about six months now. It's a good little gun, but I always felt like it was a little under powered. I do think a person will think twice about advancing any farther into a situation after getting a Federal 50 grain or two put in their chest, but I also just bought a G-27 that would sooner stop them from thinking at all....
