My advice: If you are going to think/carry small, go with revolver. S&W 642 in a Mika pocket holster comes to mind. Small autos are notorious for malfunctioning.

Thinking larger? Then, high capacity and reliability go hand-in-hand with the full size auto pistol. Glock 19 or 21 comes to mind.
It all comes down to going down the dark holes after monsters. Thatís what itís all about; when everyone else is huddled around the campfire, somebody has to go out and fight.

You can't call yourself a gun guy if you can't run a wheelgun.

I carry either a Glock 27 or a 442 with Eagle secret Service grips. The J frame is just so easy to carry.

Another vote for the 638! I've had mine for 2+ years and with the Crimson Trace 405 laser grips it is comfortable and accurate to shoot.

I have a AMT Backup in 45 acp, very simple but reliable DAO 5 rounds and has never failed to feed even the most blunt nosed HP. Not so fun to shoot though.

Got the lock. I only have the 442 until I find my prelock 342PD.

I love my XD45c...but there is a soft spot in my heart for my little wheel guns too...both my 20 year old Charter Arms 38 bobbed hammer and my Taurus model 445 titanium ported 44 special!..
Hell, occasionally i'll carry all 3...j/k
