The stock grip is just fine for me, good dampening and good concealment. I shoot and keep .357 in it, no probs; maybe partial second slower than .38+p getting back on target, but believe extra oomph of the .357 round more than makes up for that.
Good, comfy IWB carry with David Bullard's "Dual Carry":

that's gorgeous, i really want one now!

A bit of file work to the hammer spur and trigger (after this photo was taken), and a couple of sets of grip inserts from .41 Magnum works for me. A lot of range work behind the barn has smoothed out the trigger nicely. Mine rides in a D.M. Bullard Dual Carry Conceal holster IWB (like OhShoot's), or an old DeSantis belt holster made for the Colt Detective Special with the thumbreak removed. Carry ammo is Buffalo Bore's Short Barrel 158gr Gold Dot load.

I've had my 3" for 20 years. Just recently added a trigger job and hi-viz front side. Put cherry inserts in it when I first got it, but have never been happy with the grips. Bought some Badger grips and they splintered the first time I shot a .357 Magnum load. Sent them back and Jim refunded my money. I put Hogue combat grips on it but they seemed too large for CCW, so I just bought some Pachs. Interested in the mention of the Trausch grips because I'd not heard of those.

Mine is a gemini custom....the fiber optic front sight is the best investment you can make in it for outdoor shooting fun...:)

How would it decrease firing performance? All moonclips do is speed up the reload.
I love SP101s, I had a 2.25" DAO one that I stupidly sold. Now I'm in the market for a 3" DA/SA.

love the gun, got mine last year, carry it all the time in the waistband with a cheap uncle mikes #15 holster made for a full size auto , but it fits my 3 inch 101 just as well. I changed out the factory grips for some houge grips and love them. I also changed out the hammer spring with a 9Lbs. one from wolf, real cheap just a few bucks, but made a big diffrence. finished it off by giving it a real nice polish with flitz metal polish took some time but man it looks great and fun to do.cell phone pics 248.jpg hope the picture works it is my first time post a pic.
