    It's an epidemic.

    Sigh... I am a maniac.

Just got it off layaway. $375. Former property of one of Texas' finest. Took him through police academy.

For me this is probably the perfect SIG. It works just fine, I know the history, and I know the guy that sold it to me isn't telling me any fish stories about it. I'm not scared to use it, it's worn in and cheaper than my XD that I use all the time.

Sucker was dirty and it's got a lot of holster wear. The internals are nice and pretty however once I could see them. No disrespect intended, but it was a typical cop gun. It wasn't babied or cradled, it was carried and shot. That in no way puts me off, it tells me this gun does exactly what it was meant to do.

Don't worry. The former owner sold this one because he was financing a new 220 and a 226 for himself. Those must be his personal guns or backups because the local PD carries a Glock.

I have to admit I really like the way this gun handles. It fits my hand really well, and leaves my fingers some room to breath. It's more comfortable than my XD's grip and just as ergonomic.

I wanted the XD45 later in the year and put money down on this one before I knew it was going to happen. Oh well. I may just be content enough with the Sig I don't need the XD45.

To be honest though I damn near bought a CPO Sig instead of the XD. I'm glad it worked out like it did though because I'd have bought a 226, and after I got the XD I discovered if I ever got a Sig it should be the P220.

I have to admit, I love the look and feel of this big bore former cop gun. And if there's a problem with it I'll worry about that later. I really am liking the idea of those big fat cartridges in these easy to load single stack magazines.

I love guns like this. Sure it ain't pretty but it's still a Sig P220 and there ain't nothin' wrong with it. Plus, it's got personality.

The grips are okay but may not be for carry, if I get around to that.

Euc - I am proud of you

Excellent gun at a knockout price. I have already greatly enjoyed my 220 I bought from Gary Brommeland - it is a fine gun and actually (shhh - Bruce, close your ears!) - I prefer that gun as a .45acp platform - really!!

I fully expect Euc you will like that gun more and more.

I got lucky. It sat in the case for a long time at $550 until one day the manager looked in a CDNN catalog and saw what their used Sigs went for.

Then it went down to $475... $425... and went on sale for $400 one weekend.

I can't believe they didn't sell it at $425 and I can't believe they took my lowball offer. I actually feel kind of bad for the store, they're good guys and they probably only made $20-$30 on the sale.

    Euc,
    Wow! Great buy!

Although I carry a 226, I love the way a 220 feels in my hand. It's got to be one of the best .45s!

If I'm not mistaken, there are 9mms in 220 frames; I'd like that, but I presume it'd have to be reduced capacity because of the narrower 220 grip. Still....

Yeah I've heard of the 9mm 220s. I understand there's not very many of them in the US and they're frustrating to find magazines, etc. for because people swear they don't exist.

Really it's kind of weird a German company would make such a good single stack .45 ACP. I was under the impression Europe pretty much uses the 9x19 and nothing else for the most part, as a cultural thing.
