    Makarov.com is out of business

But I am pretty sure that Russia still use the Makarov as their service pistol

It seems that the supply of Maks has dried up. The day of the $100 Bulgarians is gone.

I thought Baikal still produced them, but their web site has no info regarding the Makarov M, only their more modern arms. Looks like they dropped it from the line. It is afterall an older design from the 1940's

I read a SGN article about a year or so ago that Russia switched to a new 9x19mm pistol, replacing the Mak...

Can we dream about surplus Russian Maks flooding the market someday soon? Sigh...

    Do they still make Makarov's?
To my understanding, no, noone now manufacturers Makarovs.

Note George Fisher's comment in post 2 of this thread.

Makarov's have not been imported into the USA for some time. The Arsenal Factory in Bulgaria was the last known company to produce new Makarovs, and they stopped all production in Aug. 2007. Russia and China have not produced any for several years, and even if they did, they are not able to be imported into the US.
George was half of makarov.com for a good long time. I'd say he knows what he's talking about.

The best place to find a Makarov is in the used gun case at your local gun shop or a gun show. AFAIK, they aren't being produced anymore. I found mine at a gun auction for $250; a Baikal IJ70.

Sadly, Makarov.com shut down a few months ago.
