My very short list is a S&W 342PD (prelock) and a small .380, possibly the Kahr.

Good read to the trigger. They're a bit heavy which helps w/recoil. The trigger pull can be lightened by simply ordering a spring kit from midway and you can install it yourself as it's VERY easy to do.

I love them and the stainless J frames like the Model 60. I just put a model 60-12 pre-lock on layaway over the internet. They're a bit hard to find but they're an excellent revolver. Take a look at some of these.

Then for a HD shotgun, again size is everything but I'd recommend you look at an 870 in 12ga and also the remington 870 in 20ga. Less choices of ammo in 20ga but enough and I think you can lighten the recoil considerably in the 20. I know you can get reduced recoil loads in the 12 and the heavier gun helps soak up some recoil, however, I feel the 20ga is way under rated as a good HD shotgun.
    THANKS!!! This is VERY helpful!
