Agree with that. What's the model and is that guide rod supposed to be doing that?

Yes it is supposed to do that. It is completely normal and is due to short barrel. It is a P11 9mm 12+1 round gun.

Congrats on your new Kel-tec! It is a great carry gun... I have one and it is very reliable with 115 and 124 grain ammo.

Well, I never noticed either. Not surprising on the P3AT as there's no slide lock, but I just went and checked both my P3AT and my PF-9 and they both do it to a degree, though no where near as much as the photo above. On both of mine, there is still a substantial gap between the guide rod and the barrel.

To the OP -- Congrats on the new gun. If it's as reliable as both of mine have been, you'll be happy.

I have only been able to put 50 rounds through it so far, but they all fed, fired, and ejected flawlessly. I have owned a kel-tec p-11 before and loved it. This one was purchased to replace that one, and I am sure I will be very happy with it.

I knew it was a Kel Tec when I looked at the lower left corner of the grip and saw the words Kel Tec.

a kel tec p11. yes the guide rod will do that on the p11. not on the others. go to the kel tec org sites and look at what they say about the p11. i got one and it is a great gun. the p11 will do just as good as my glock 26 and the other small 9mm brands. i know that statement will make some mad, but the kel tec p11 is one heck of a carry gun.

Actually the P40 guide rod does the same thing.

Nice KJ. I opted for the single stack PF9 over the double. Mine doesn't seem to like WWB FMJs at all. Speer GDHP 124gr for SD.
