    Hi Y'all

As I have posted in the Holsters forum, my Pt 1911's had worn off while using a kydex holster:

I finally got the PT1911 back this week after having it refinished with Duracoat The first pics are of the 1911 when I first got it.

Very nice! I really like the two-tone controls.

I have a Para SSP that I can foresee needing a finish job somewhere down the line.

I'm not very familiar with all the different finish options. What made you decided to have it Duracoated?

Very nice looking. Did you have someone local do it or send it off to have it done?

ecuReed, There is a member of the gun club I belong to, used to Duracoat firearms and I was impressed with the finishes of those he did. But he quit finishing and went into another field.

cvhoss, The guy that finished it, lives about 35-40 mins from me. I just took it to him and picked it up when it was finished.

PreacherTim, you can't tell by the pics, but the lower is O.D. green and the slide is black. I'll try to post some better ones.

nn, I haven't made it to the range yet. I have to wait a week or so for the finish to harden further.

Very nice.. I was thinking about sending my CDP Pro out for NPS on the slide, but now I'm actually thinking of having everything done with Wilson's tuff-coat when it's sent off to the for the bobtail work.

Very nice combination and I'll keep an eye out for when you take it to the range. Enjoy!

That is a nice 1911! The color combinations, in my opinion, are odd on papaer but really work well with the completed. Congrats!

The guy that refinished it said he had doubts about how it would look. Afterwards, he said it turned out looking a lot better than he first thought it would.
