Added a new one to the stable

Had a couple of gift certificates to my local gun shop that I had received for Christmas so went in the other day looking for something to spend them on when I spied this:

Sig 239 in 9mm with the DAK trigger. There's really nothing special about this one other than the deal I got. He had ordered this gun in for another customer who had never come in to pick it up and he was getting ready to send it back. This pistol has an MSRP of $823.00 and he had it marked at $749.00. Bud's currently shows this gun at $665.00 with the SA/DA trigger (the DAK is about $23.00 additional). Impact Guns shows it at $677.99 with SA/DA. I bought it for $600.00. Reason I bought it was that my EDC is my Sig SAS DAK 40 S&W. Since this one has the DAK trigger but is 9mm, I can practice with cheaper ammo but still have the same trigger as my EDC. Seemed like a good idea plus it's another new gun.

Based on good reviews I've read here on DC, I ordered a set of TruGlo TFO sights for it and installed them. Haven't had a chance to get to the range yet, but I like the looks of the sights and they sure show up in daylight. As night sights, they didn't seem very bright when I was looking at them in dim light but when I went to put the gun in the safe, I saw how bright they really are and in total darkness, they're bright.

Once it warms up enough to spend a couple hours at the range, I'll let everyone know how she did, but given my experience with the 239 40, I'm not expecting any problems.

Great deal on a great gun. I have the same sights and they are excellent. They do shoot a shade low compared to the stock ones. For me keeping the front sight just above the notch brings it back to zero.

Agreed. This one makes three. I consider myself very fortunate that I have a fairly decent selection of firearms to enjoy including many from other manufacturers but I do find myself favoring the Sigs. I just hope none of the others get jealous.
