    Baby Browning

My next door neighbor has an FN "Baby Browning" given to him by another of my neighbors after her hucband died. It's .25 caliber and smaller than my Seecamp LWS .32. I am not sure that it has ever been fired although it did have some holster wear. I have no idea how old it is as the serial number is in the 200,000 range. I put about 36 rounds through it and it reacted flawlessly. I was surprised that at seven yards I was able to put some rounds in the bullseye. Cleaning was a bit of a challenge as the barrel has to be rotated 90 degrees during disassembly/reassembly. Breaking it down included removing the firing pin, not too difficult even for me. Recoil was very light and easy to handle. All in all I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of use and accuracy. Anyone ever shoot one of these?

I have one that was in my father's collection. Nickel plated. Never was able to get it going reliabily plus the fact that it is "striker fired" and I would never carry it with one in the chamber. But, a good collector's peice. Don't let go of it.

There is a good website that has info regarding the age of the pistol based on it's serial # range.
