I almost forgot, also for reference....

The .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, more commonly called .22 WMR, .22 Magnum, or simply .22 Mag, is a rimfire rifle cartridge. Commonly loaded with a 40 grain (2.6 g) bullet, it can deliver velocities in the 2,000 ft/s (610 m/s) range from a rifle barrel. It is also available with 30-grain (1.9 g) loads (2 g) and can achieve speeds of 2,300 ft/s (700 m/s).

I would hope my last two posts end the need to hold on to some confused belief that a 22 pistol will reach those amounts of energy. It may get close IF the pistol fires WMR rounds, but the barrel will still be at least 14 inches shorter than the rifle used to reach the numbers in the data...

I was going to leave this thread alone and just follow it for a good laugh, but once I saw people that I respect as truly educated members being insulted by someone that is very new and whose ammunition for the debate is not entirely correct, I felt it was time for some concrete info!

*Edit - I just found, via Google, that the .22wmr's velocity is closer to 1,350 in a handgun, not the 2,000+ it would require for that amount of energy..

At Gunfighters23's request, his account is no longer active here, and this thread is closed. He finally figured out that he was way in over his head...
