Just might as well keep the XML. It'll mount to anything with a standard rail, including the gun you'd be trading in on. You'd never recover enough of your cost to make it worth trading in.

    Great report Euc...

I dont currently own an XD but have shot many of them at the range. I have always been impressed with the grip design, it just felt great and it seemed to be a natural pointer for me.

I've been interested in the .45 ACP version since it was announced, now you've really got my interest up...enough so that I could see me owning one even though I've got 4 other .45's.

You are right about the comparison of the XD to the Glock...the Glock feels like crap after handling an XD.

The only negative I can see so far is the fact that it took them so long to get it out...

That and the fact I can't get any spare magazines for it. At least not yet.

I guess the good news is these two mags should be broken in by then, cuz they'll cycle all the practice ammo by necessity!

BTW I didn't even realize this... they've changed the finish on the XD45 too. The corrossion issue should be a thing of the past now.

    Nice pics Euc

I certainly thought, looking at your early pic - that thing looks like it could now be resistant to conc H2SO4 LOL!!

Seriously - from all I had been hearing, they had to do something after the early XD hyper-corrosion stories!

Bud - no idea yet what they are calling it but - sure as heck looks mega durable! That ain't no park'ing either or Tenifer.

Hard to believe that is a double stack 12 - impressive.
