    Kahr PM9: Another happy customer

Yesterday, I picked up my new Kahr PM9 and today took it to the range to break it in. 200 rounds of WWB without a single FTF or any other problem.

I am very impressed with this gun. The trigger is great (actually much better than my HK LEM trigger) and for a very small pistol easily controllable. It was not as pleasant to shoot 200 rounds as it is with my full size USP, but I found it had considerably less recoil than a J-frame.

I love the HK but rarely carry it because I can't conceal it under anything more revealing than a winter parka. The HK is going to get a laser/light combo and live in my night table. The Kahr is going to be my new CCW

Congrats on a great choice. My PM9 is my EDC usually in a K&D Dakota Defender. Try to find some Federal HST 147g if you can for SD loads.

Good choice. My PM-9 had maybe 6 FTF in the first hundred rounds, since then perfect.
You'll find people either hate it or love it. I love it.

Wally World is carrying Winchester 147grain JHP Personal Defense loads for $18 for a 50 count box. I read somewhere that they are similar in ballistic characteristics to the SXT.

Congratulations on the new pistol. Your experiences with it mimic mine exactly. I lost round count on mine quite some time back, but it has never had a failure, even during the break-in period.

I bought a pm9 for my gf, it was horrible. In 40 rounds, it had 10+ ftf, and several FTE. Finally, it would not fire at all. The shop where I bought it replaced it with a new unit. The new pm9 has been flawless through 200+ rounds. Congrats on the purchase. My next carry gun will be a pm9.

Great to hear of another Kahr success story. That seems to be par for the course. I plan to add either a PM9 or MK9 to the stable before too long.

I carry a SIG 229 .40S&W. Wife finally decided to get her CCW and after much research she decided on a CW9. It is light, thin, excellent reliability and accurate. She loves it and I would not hesitate to carry it also.

The Kahr PM9 is the only pistol I have right now.

I really really like it alot. I have some experience with pistols many years ago but not enough to compare anything too.

I like how it wont let you close the slide down on an empty magazine very easily since it is for Fighting SD only. Pop a loaded Mag in and it will slide shut with a flick of the thumb. It is easy to take down and clean. And it feels like I don't even have it on when I am wearing it.

The only question I have is about the loaded chamber indicator.
I don't see any difference in the look of the gun when it is loaded.
Maybe I am not looking at the right part? The book has a picture but it is not very clear at all.

edit: not FTF or jams of any kind in 350-400 rounds.

You should see a slight difference, the extractor will angle out away from the side of the slide slightly when loaded, when empty chamber it nearly parallels the side of the slide. Try looking from the top of the slide, a downward view. Might be more obvious.

Of course a visual check is best anyway (IMHO). Pinch the slide at the cocking serrations and draw back slightly. Look for the brass in the chamber. When you release the slide, be certain it goes fully back into battery.
    Regards, T Bone.
