    Sig P229 Hogue G-10 grips?

Everything about my Sig is perfect except the grips. I tried the Hogue rubber grips with finger grooves. Too fat. Tried the Hogue panels. Too sticky and catch on my concealing garment all the time. So I went back to the stock grips. They are good, but I want something a little thinner, and a little more aggressive.

I was checking out a friend's 1911 that had some G10 grips. Thin, aggressive, and not "sticky" against clothing. It's perfect. They were not made by Hogue though.

Before I go dropping $140, has anyone used the Hogue G10 grips for the 229? Are they thinner than the stock grips? How do they feel? Do you have a picture of them (I couldn't find one on the Hogue site or anywhere else on the internet)?

    Thanks for any help.

Before you go dropping the $$$, remember that Hogue has an on-line auction site, you may be able to wait and snag a pair off there.

As for the actual specs, you'd probably be better off calling them and asking some questions.

JD, I am thinking of replacing the stock grips on my p228. Where is their auction site? Is it on their Hogue factory site?

You may want to check out Sigforum, as there is a thread there about these grips. They are just being made now in batches, so I don't believe people have received any yet.

I'm waiting for the initial reviews to come in before ordering a pair for my P226.

I was going to go with aluminum, but I love G10.

Had no idea they were this new. They are making them in batches, so won't be a "gets in fast" item. Thinner than stock, and with a shorter trigger reach. Just what I'm looking for. I'll place an order today. They might be in by the time I get back. They haven't shipped any orders for the 229 yet, so I'll add mine. They also said they will be making a change to the Sig G10 grips, so I wonder if that will be incorporated when I get them. I'm stoked :)
