    I HAVE noticed something I didnt think about tho...
    I normally carry a 4" N frame in a Galco Silhouette, this 629 stops at the end of the open holster.
    Without the barrel hanging out the bottom and pressing against me, the holster doesnt hold as close to my body as it does with the longer pistols.

    i passed up on one when s&w first came out with them. now many mango season as passed and i am looking for one. when they first came out they had nice wooden finger grips on them. they are hard to find at a fair price.

    I looked at the S&W combat grips... but the things are bringing $200-250 a set now.
