The situation will NEVER BE THE WAY YOU WANT, it WILL BE THE WAY IT IS. You must be FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO ADAPT and just "DEAL WITH IT".
I've got all mine loaded up with Federal 230g HST's... I figure if 15 of them can't get the job done, I'm in the wrong place.

No mix. All hollow points in the summer and all FMJ in the winter. Around here everyone wears a lot of layers of heavy clothing in the cold months.

95gr FMJ in the .380
Alternating FMJ, JHP (115gr) in the 9mm
230 gr. Speer Gold Dots. Double tap to center mass, one to mouth. Repeat as needed.
FMJ's can be big trouble due to over penetration. You make take out an innocent when that metal goes through their lung and passed out the rear with enough velocity to easily kill the person it hits. With modern technology HP's are the only way to go IMO

p3at gets hrnady critical defense and p11 gets pow-r-ball.
If I am carrying 2 spare mags then 1 spare mag will have FMJ in it. Otherwise everything is JHP.
Federal 125 grain 357 Sig inmy 226. Winchester 127 grain +P+ in my P2K.
8 rds. (plus 1 in the pipe) Winchester Ranger 45 ACP 230 gr. hollow points (RA45T) and 3 spare mags of same.

PP hollow point same in 2 xtra clips
Hollow points all the way for me. Some +P. CC mode always dictates to me the necessity to carry the best, or most proven and reliable ammo available. In my honest opinion, FMJ's are made for the range, and not for CC armament specifically. I'd never contemplate mixing FMJ and HP ammo in my guns for CC
Sig P228...13+1 of 124gr. Gold Dots and same in spare mag.
G23...180 grain Gold Dot HP and same in spare.
