I Need Practice Ammo!

I've found Blazer to be poor quality and lots of tarnished cases and bullets. I dunno why so many people think it's good...maybe a bad shipment my wal-mart got.

I've had one box like that;dozens of other boxes fine.
Even the "nasty" box worked fine.
I think Walmart had some old product that wasn't stored in a proper place.
I've noticed there are two sizes of packaging;the "bad" box I got was the slightly longer box.It has the lot # printed on the end.The lot # is HO2P5.
The shorter boxes have the lot # stamped on the back;
but as I said it all works.

I talked to the clerk at one of the Walmarts here in Albuquerque about the lack of WWB 9mm ammo. He said they get new ammo delivered every few days, and it sells out immediately.

I always purchase CCI from Natchez. The price is good and the shipping is mostly offset by the lack of sales tax. I do lose the humor of answering Wal Mart's "Rifle or handgun?" question with 9mm UZI

OK, no Russian ammo. But I've been to every Walmart in the Albuquerque Metro area and there's no 9mm!

That's a common occurance. I make a point of visiting a few Walmarts and checking their 9mm inventory. It seems that as fast as they restock the 9mm it is sold. You might want to ask the salesperson when they expect their next delivery of 9mm ammo. Get their early that day to ensure you get some before it sells out again.
I buy 9mm for my Glock 26.

Damn site better than Bear. Key with any ammo, make sure it is non corrosive and boxer primed.

The S&B I don't have much experience with, and can't remember how clean or dirty it was (last time I bought some around 10/15 years ago).

Might check some more of the online ammo dealers (you may have already done that). The "ammo shortage" has been going on for some time, and is a big part of why costs keep getting driven up (or is it the other way around?). I frankly don't buy the whole shortage thing (think it's artificial). But then, I'm paranoid.

I have used regular ol' S&B and liked it. What, pray tell, is "Range Safe"?

ETA: Ah, a little reading will do wonders. Steel case and Berdan primed. No thanks... Ammo-to-Go has the good S&B for $212/k, which is still not bad.

Georgia Arms has 115gr for $220/k and 124gr for $230/k, and their shipping is a couple sawbucks to most places.

NO!! Read the product description.

I would suggest staying away from steel cased ammo for a pistol regardless of who makes it. Check the product descriptions. The cheapest Sellier & Bellot with brass case is this one. It's going to cost you about .03 to .05 per round more for brass cased rounds but you can save the empties for when you start reloading (you probably will) or sell them as once fired range brass to recoup part of your investment.

Oops! Guess I should have researched the product rather than giving an opinion based on my limited experience with the brand.

Minimum requirements for me are: Non corrosive and boxer primed. Prefer brass, could get by occasionally with aluminum case (no steel, except for my AK).

it you dont want to reload its very clean burning. i dont think the copper plated case will hurt you gun.

I've been finding Blazer Brass 115g 9mm at local WMs but no WWB anywhere. The Blazer Brass is slightly cheaper so I guess I'll still keep stocking up. Does anyone have a preference between the two and other range ammo?

I to would invest in a reloading set up, great hobby and the cheapest way to shoot. I hate how dirty most cheap ammo tends to be!!

Before I use reloaded ammo I would check the owners manual for my firearm. Some firearm manufacturers will void the warranty on a firearm if reloads are used. My Glock owners manual mentions that the warranty is void if I use reloads. I will stick with factory produced all that same. I could use reloads but why risk my guns warranty down the road. Just a thought, IMHO!

+1: that's the only reason mine was replaced (see earlier in thread) was that it wasn't a reload
