Very good start, but I think the addition of a shotgun and rifle would enhance your chances in the world to come.

Nice selection, I would add a 22lr rifle and handgun, a shotgun and a rifle in 30/06 or 308, no specific recommendations, as there are a lot to choose from. The 22’s would be good for practice and small game, likewise for the shotgun plus it makes a wonderful self-defense weapon also. The 30/06 or 308 will work well for big game and if it really hits the fan can serve to stop a barricaded criminal.

Only if your only need is pretty much limited to self-defense carry.......and primarily concealed carry at that.

If so, then you're pretty well covered. If not, I can think of a lot of holes to fill!

    3 great guns though!

I'd say, especially with the rifle and shotgun, you are in good shape. That assumes you have plenty of rounds for each.

We all "need" lots more and personally I'll never have enough. But with at least a half dozen good carry pistols (9MM through 45 ACP), 2 revolvers (38 and 357), a 12 gauge riot gun, a good semi rifle (308 cal AR-10 in my case), good "long range gun" (Remington 700CDL in 30-06), I'm ok. Add my O/U Beretta's (12, 20 and 28 gauge) and well over 2000 rounds of various caliber ammo, I should be good for all but the worst of times. If those happen, I'm afraid that I will be living in a 5 acre compound with my boss so our joint 6 dogs, two dozen guns, 5000+ rounds of ammo, and two wifes, generator, et all will keep us comfortable.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that though. If it does, websites like this may become far more important than they are now.

At something well over 20 guns, I still don't have every gun I "need". Way more than I can carry, but not all I "need". Need is such a misconstrued term...

My gun list in a few months will be

    16" M4gery with Acog
    Remington 700
    Sig P229
    Sig P226
    Savage MkII
    Ruger MkIII

Then I plan to add a Benelli M4 or a Remington 870 sometime in the future. That should cover everything.

Is it possible to have every gun you'll ever need? Every time I buy the last gun I will ever need I find two I can't be without.

I got to say you need a good 22lr, both in rifle and pistol format.

My collection is well into triple digits, but I think every collection needs a good fighting pistol, a 12 ga pump, a battle rifle and at least a 22 of some sorts. Outside of those, everything else is a matter of want.

+1 sixto. There comes a point where we go from need to want. If you want it fine but after the Sixto's list above or so it is want; I think we all need to be truthful and say "I WANT IT!!! PLEASE CAN I HAVE IT!!!!!" (Yelling intented!!) That is what I tell my wife now "Honey, I want this gun; PLEASE!!"

What might be the "ultimate" .22LR pistol? Maybe a S&W 41?
