Question What laser for XD subcompact

I just purchased a Springfield XD subcompact that I will CC in a SuperTuck IWB holster. Is there a laser (no light needed) that can be used on this gun and still work with the holster? Thanks!

Laser for Springfield XD Sub-Compact 40 9mm Laser Sight

im not sure how good they are as i dont have one, or know of anybody with one, but ive seen them advertised before....no added size to the gun, so no need for extras on the holster.....good luck in your search

The main problem with adding a laser to the XD, is finding a holster that will accommodate it. The better holsters will usually be form-fitted for the gun with nothing on the bottom rail. Your best options are the recoil spring guide rod replacement mentioned above, or the Crimson Trace laser grip. The CT laser grip would be cheaper, but does add some (although minimal) bulk to the gun.

If Crimson Trace doesn't make one, there isn't one.

Crimson trace makes one and there is little width added to the gun and should still fit. CT is the only laser system that I would use

    Thumbs up LaserMax Rod Guide

I have the LaserMax on my 4" XD-45 & really like it a lot - with one exception which would apply to any laser sight & that is: red is all but useless in bright daylight - green is much more effective . . . other than that one (-), I luv it - e.g. - really tightened my "tired ol' eyes" grouping in addtion to the obvious defensive advantages - most especially in reduced lighting . . .

LaserMax had a special discount offer for NRA members awhile back - dunno if it's still valid??

I have a LaserMax guide rod in my Glock36 and will agree with the above poster that its downright useless in daylight (unless you are within 5-10ft of the target). Also, something to note about the LaserMax is that the beam blinks on the target (very quick, constant pulses while engaged)...its not a steady laser like EoTech or Crimson Trace lasers are.

That said, its awesome that it adds no size to the gun, but does add a great night feature.
