    My New Glock 23 (pics)

Recently purchased a Glock 23 and took it to the Range last evening.
I have read a lot that people say it doesn't fit their hands too well.
In my case It fits me perfect, like it was made for my hands. But then I have large hands.
Before firing it I thought that the checkering in the finger grooves might be uncomfortable while firing but such was not the case.
So I took a box of 100 WWB to the range.
Very much enjoyed shooting the glock, wished I brought more ammo though.
It ate up the 100 rounds right quick.
    Tried out the grip here:

The Combat Handgun Grip, it worked really well for me.

Below are some pics, one is one of the targets I shot. I seem to be stuck grouping at low 6 o'clock, not sure why, suggestions? I don't think its the glock because as I recall the same occurs with my 1911. I generally don't have much trouble getting decent groups, they're just always a bit low.

Now if only the holster would hurry up and get here.

It's a great gun...my EDC you'll come to love its simplicity and ruggedness more as time goes on. However, do yourself a favor and get some night sights. Those stock plastic ones are junk and can break pretty easily if your not careful.

Great choice! My EDC is a G27, I almost wish I had gone with the G23 instead.

Your groupings are low for one of two reasons 1- You are shooting from an incredible distance (in that case "great grouping")...OK VERY doubtful 2-(And by far the most likely reason) You are anticipating your shots and "pushing" the gun down to counter the recoil.

I prescribe a LOT of dry fire practice and getting a few snap caps to shoot with. Have someone else load the gun with both live ammo and snap caps. When you fire on a snap you will notice that when you pull the trigger the gun pushes downward. This is a result of "percieved recoil". Remember that when you pull the trigger...wait a second, NEVER pull the trigger! You must squeeze the trigger, not knowing exactly when it will fire. This will help cure you of your low shooting.

excellent shooting advice from nosights, snap caps are fun to use to toy with other shooters!

You can also cure the low shoot by seeing more of the front sight through the rear one. This is if you aren't pulling your shots.
I have carried a Gen 2 G23 for 14 years and I love it. For the best sights, hands down, get the TFO sights, you can thank me later. I also have a set of CT grips that I like.
For a holster, I have tried a few, trust me, I have settled on the Bianchi Caryloc check it out.

Over the years I have found out that the normal sight picture that has been discribed as a "Punkin on a Post" will cause a Glock to shoot low.

Using the white dot of the front sight, instead of the top of the front sight usually gives a POA to POI.

If you are also doing it with your 1911's, i'd suggest reviewing your posture. I find when I slouch I shoot a bit low.

Let me know if this works,

    Congrats, I carry a G22. Want a G23 next, or an XD40.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will take the Kimber along with the glock next time and try some things and see what happens. Will probably change the sights at some point just can't decide, so many options, I do like look of the TFO's though.

    NICE

GOOD LUCK with that new Glock. You're in GOOD company that is the FBI's alternative to the full-size G22 as their duty-pistol.
