    Talking I'm getting an XD!!!!!

Well, the tax refund is on the way to my bank account as we speak and I wanted a 4 inch service model, two toned (silver slide/black frame) XD .40. But, as most of you may know, it is next to impossible to find some types of hand guns right now due to the "Obama Effect" and XD's are one of those types.

I checked with every local gun shop, and with Chooie's FFL guy and no one has any in stock and their suppliers are also out. I couldn't even order one!

So, I went onto another forum I visit, XDTalk, and asked if anyone knew of where I could order one and lo and behold, a miracle happened. A guy who is right here in the Memphis area, just bought a tow tone 4 inch XD .40 on December 27 and he wants to sell it. And to top it off, he got the extra mags with the XD Gear UP promotion and he's kicking them in too. On;y 250 rounds through the gun.

And the cost? $50 less than I was going to pay for the brand new one I was going to order. And that's with out being able to get the t extra mags.

So, it is safe to say that I am JAZZED! As soon as the refund gets here, I will be the proud owner of a two tone XD .40 service model. Range report and pictures to follow hopefully in the very near future!!

You'll be very happy with your purchase. There are plenty of reviews that have nothing but great things to say about it.

I know when I shot mine, it was incredibly comfortable.

I bought an XD-40 4" black in the summer last year and have been VERY happy with mine. I have it on my side 15 hours a day. I've run about 1000 rds thru it.
When I got mine it was $339 out the door. I was at the shop where I bought it this past weekend and it was up to $499 now. Tom said that his cost had gone up and he had the new ones marked up to the same % as when I bought mine. Glad I got mine when I did. It appears that the manufacturers are sticking it to us.
Congrats on the new gun (at least new to you).

Grats Mike! I wish you could have bought mine, but it looks like you're getting its younger brother.

Yep Joe, I'm real sorry I couldn't give yours a home too. But, this is almost as good, just 2 less mags and $75 more. But, it is a little younger like you said so it might be a wash.

No matter, I'm getting one and I am stoked!

Excellent! XD's are starting to pop up all over up here. 5 years and there will be as many as there are Glocks!

I've had my xd-40 service for a little over a year. It is a great gun and very accurate. I decided to do a grip chop on mine, so now its a xd-40 compact. The only complaint I have had with it was the creep in the trigger. I am used to a nice crisp single action and a factory xd trigger is not up to par for me. A little gunsmith work improved it a lot and tightened up my groups. Springer Precision makes a drop in sear kit that also greatly improves the trigger.

You are gonna love this gun. Post a range report and let us know your impressions after you get it. I've got a real nice Bluegrass Holsters OWB for a 4 inch XD if you need one.
