Not sure what you mean by "F&N". Did you mean FNH (FN Herstal)? If so, they are superb handguns. FNH makes a lot of weapons for the military, but they are not well known in the civilian market (they own Browning). I have an FNP-9 and it is my favorite weapon. The FNP-40 is physically the same size, the FNP-45 is larger. If you do get one, the FNP-9 and FNP-40 fit perfectly in holsters made for the Springfield XD 4".

Thanks for your reply I was looking at the FNP 40 cal for around $500. I was not sure if I was better off going with a sig or H&K for a few hundred more I just don't want a junky gun you know.

FNH 40s are outstanding! Sigs and HKs are also great guns, but you will not be disappointed with the Herstal.

I don't know anything about their "plastic" guns, but their metal ones are great. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of their products based upon their reputation and past expiriences with their product.

I have a FNP9 & FNP9M(compact version). Over total 4500rds thru them w/o first jam. As reliable as any auto I've ever owned and pretty accurate too.

My young bride has the FNP9 and it's been outstanding from day one. Reasonably priced, accurate, comfortable to shoot and altogether reliable.

FN makes good stuff. The only reason I would be slightly hesitant to buy one would be product support. Many local dealers don't carry their stuff, but if that's not an issue, go for it.

FN makes very good, accurate dependable guns. The design was begun by John Moses Browning when he was in their employe. They are are simple (fewer parts than Sig or H+K) military pistols. The Nazis took over the plant in Belgium during WWII. You can't get a better recomendation than that. The Nazi's knew great guns and its a tribute to the HI Power, P-35 that the couldn't build a better pistol. Buy FN or Browning with confidence. There are also FMs made in Argentina that are exactly the the same ,except for the finish and a lot less money!
