Recommendations sought on 1911-style pistol
I'm trying to identify and evaluate my options on a 1911-style pistol. My criteria are (1) great build quality, (2) stainless slide, (3) alloy frame, and (4) 4 inch (or approx.) "Commander" length barrel. Any recommendations will be much appreciated.

Take a look at the SIG RCS. I've put about 1000 rounds through mine with no problems. See link below.

Also look at Wilson Combat CQB Compact light weight frame, or less expensive, Kimber Raptor Pro.

Kimber 4 inch Pro CDP
The Kimber Pro CDP fits your specifications. Extra advantages are stock night sights, carry melt and checkered front strap.

Those Kimber CDP II pistols would all be good choices. I have the Ultra 3" and the custom 5" with Wilson magazines.

Thanks to all for your responses. Wilsons appear to be excellent pistols, but they're out of my price range. The Sig and the Colt look like strong options. In truth, my bias at first was to get a Kimber Stainless Pro Carry II. I see from the responses that the Kimber has its share of fans. On the other hand, I've also seen several posts that question the quality/reliability of Kimber products. As such, I'm not sure how to "comparatively" evaluate these choices. Are there any folks out there who have much experience with more than one of these brands in a 1911-style pistol? Any advice?

If I had to make a choice from those listed above it would be the Colt.
Kimber makes a very good looking pistol. My experience with their reliability and customer service has not been stellar to say the least.

I've owned 5 Colts and 3 Kimbers over the years. I've never had an issue with any of them that would require the need to contact customer service.
