    Yep

    Not a 9 ~ 11 ~ 01
And not a new one but, owned one of the old, original ones.
    A CombatMaster.
I'm sure the 9 11 01 would be equally as great.

    Great firearm.
Detonics were always Strong as an OX & built like a tank.
My "old timer" was 100% reliable & accurate.

Mine was their chopped .45 ~ A tiny bit heavy for it's small size but, very easy to conceal. I'm sorry that I don't have mine anymore.
I honestly wish that I had it back.

I hear mixed reports on Detonics but - one I shot many years ago impressed me.

My memory is bad - who has one here? Is it Big Jon got one and likes it - tho not IIRC this model.

Looks a real nice piece - hope we'll get some more input - we usually do manage quite a lot of feedback here - one of the big plusses of this board.

I wish that I knew more about the new Detonics. It looks like the QC is being kept up & they look very well fit. They are also much more expensive than when I bought mine.
It's a shame that we don't have a few more Detonics owners here.
The proof of the pistol is always in the shooting though & I've not had a chance to shoot a new one.

I do like the way that pistol is set up.
    Decent no frills fixed sights.
    Nicely fit Duck's a$$...I mean Beaver Tail G S.
Checkered slide stop & mag release.
Minus the usual three "air holes" in the trigger.
    No extended thumb safety.
    Commander/rowel hammer.
    Nice grips.
    Flat mainspring housing.
    Extra Beefy plunger tube.

    Real nice practical & tasteful.
Now...I could carry that firearm (just as is) without any further modifications.

Latest Issue of GUN WORLD has write up on it.....
Looks like well-built fighting gun, not being marketed as a target / competition gun.....

I spent about 30 minutes at the Detonics booth at the SHOT Show. I never thought much of them, but their new pistols are actually very well made. I think that they are going to catch on and sell very well.

The guy showed me a video of a 30,000 round torture test that they did on one gun, and it was pretty impressive.

The gun that was tortured test sat in a plexiglass case atop all of the empties fired through the gun....they didn't even clean the soot off of the gun.

The rest of guns on display looked and felt really good.

Jerry Ahern was on-hand to to answer any questions.

I think Detonics finally exorcised its past QC demons.

during the mid 80's, i owned about 5 of the combatmasters. i had functioning problems with most of them except for one. that one, an mc-1, shot great. unfortunately, all of the detonics cm's were sold.

about 3 years ago, i found an unfired combatmaster at a gun shop. the gun was like new as the grip checkering was still sharp. the original box, docs, and pouch were included.

like almost all of the combatmasters i owned, this one too had functioning problems. after a trip to don williams at the actionworks, the gun was returned "fixed." besides don's reliability package, don changed the extractor and slide stop.

i recently found a new pendergrass (ahern's) combatmaster at a local gunshop. though this gun is selling for almost twice the money as the seattle guns, it appears to be much better made. right now i'm considering purchasing it.

When I get this one, I plan on putting ~500 or so downrange before having front strap checkered or stippled, just to see how she does....
