    Classic Snubbies

I have picked up a couple of classic or at least semi-classic subnose revolvers recently. I plan on carrying them some I think. I have a lot of CCW options but the classics always have a spot in my heart and on my hip or in my pocket.

The Colt is a 3rd issue Detective Special and the Smith & Wesson is a Model 10-7. Both are tight, timed and lock up nice.

I had a Colt Agent years ago and wish I had not sold it, I miss that gun.

Always liked the mod 10 snubbie too. I had a friend years ago on the Memphis Police Dept that carried one off duty, (back when the official sidearm was a 4" HB mod 10). He was one of the armourers that worked at the academy and range. He bobbed the hammer and had the action so smoothe the trigger pull was like squeezing soft butter.

    Classic revolvers indeed, pirate!

    Excellent choices. Enjoy them.

Nice classics. The only older classic I have yet to find is a Smith&Wesson model 15 with 2-inch barrel.

Does this qualify as classic? When I picked it up last week, it had been fired once and put away. S&W Military and Police (not model 10!)
2" barrel with original factory nickel ("N" on inside of grip frame) S&W says manufacture date was 1950 and shipped in 1951, so probably made in November or December of 1950. A real "tack driver" at 15 yards it now rides in a Minimalist holster at 4 o'clock as my cool weather EDC.

A snubbie is a great weapon to have on hand. I have a lot of confidence in my Detective Special, as does my young bride in her Cobra.
