anyone have pics of a Sig P239 next to an HK USP compact? I cant find a gun store that carries both models and Id like to compare them to see which would be a better CCW.
Id really like to see them side by side from behind. Im really curious how much wider one is than the other in the slide and in the handle. Im also curious to see how much taller one is over the other.
I don't think you'll be able to tell much by just looking. My take on which is better would be determined by how you will carry it. For OWB, the USPc would be better. IWB, the P239 would be better - cause it's single stack and will be more comfortable. While the USPc is compact in length, the grip is not - it's almost full size which is one of it's great features. It is a soft controllable shooter even in 40.

When you're looking to carry concealed the difference in these two is going to be completely insignificant, you should be concerned entirely with how it feels in the hand and how it shoots. I have carried the USP .40 fullsize and I now carry the USPc .40 every single day and have carried the Sig in a couple different sizes. I'm 5'8" and 160, a runner and soccer player with 7% body fat. Wouldn't seem like there's a lot to hide a pistol but I've never been spotted and I'm almost always in t-shirts.

as far as I can tell they are damn near the exact same size.
I have both of these guns, with the Sig P239 in 9mm and the USPc in .40 caliber. Here is a shot I took of them together. They are very similar in size, with the USP seeming a little wider in the slide. I would say that the Sig conceals a little more easily, especially in the grip area.

arent there mags you can buy that fit flush agong the bottom of the HK grips? it seems to me the shorter profile mag bottoms would eliminate any real noticeable difference in concealability between the two.
Yes, H&K sells mag bases that are flat, without the extended lip shown on my USP above. I have one of these, and it does make the gun more concealable. Here is a photo from the web showing that mag in a gun:Quote:
