That's how I got my Beretta 9mm. But from the State Patrol. It even has Washington State Patrol engraved on it. Pretty cool and I believe it was just 200.00. It is the FS M compact and thus came with 5 mags as well. The way they did it was the trooper was given the chance to buy their gun. A trooper I knew gave us the chance to buy it from her at the same price as she did not want it. She even threw in a decent leather holster.

+1 I'll pay a bigger finders fee if you come to me instead!

Actually, I'll need a better job before I can afford a finders fee!

I have a SIG P220 .45, a SIG P228 9mm, a SIG P229 .357SIG, a High Standard riot gun, and a Benelli M1S90 that all started life in a PD. The finish on all but the Benelli and the P228 (which looks brand new) is worn from holster wear and handling, but mechanically they are perfect.

There's alot of gun wholesalers/dealers like CDNN and Bud's that get big police dept trade-ins and sell them at reasonable prices. You can sometimes find them at gun shows and local shops as well. Not long ago I bought a PD trade-in Mossberg 590A1 from Maine Military Supply for $299. It was like new, I know it was never in a cruiser and looked like it never left the armory.
